Anonymous: Operation Iraq

Anonymous‘ gift to the Iraqi People: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=13BAGK55 (Care Package contains first aid information, protest tactics, and more)

As Anonymous watches what is going on in Iraq, we are shocked by the violence, and the brutality used by the government to stop demonstrations.

Protests in the Iraqi cities denounced the social conditions and the lack of services, where demonstrators were confronted by the fire of security forces and many are killed or wounded…. It becomes unbearable to see that these people continue to suffer violence, after thirty years of the reign of fear under the Baath party and eight years of fierce occupation and terrorism.

Those in power now, are they not the opposition of the recent past who has suffered with the Iraqi people the worst dictatorship that can exist; with mass executions, violence, crimes against humanity and lack of freedoms of all kinds?

How can the Iraqi Police continue to use the same methods of the old regime by firing live ammunition on demonstrators who require only the minimum rights to a decent life? How can they accept that 15 % of children are not in school, but are instead working to help their extremely poor families, despite the fact that they live in one of the richest countries in the world?

Can the millions of dollars in profit that executives and officials continue to make in the ongoing corruption justifiy such crimes?

The consciousness of the people in the world can neither ignore nor condone such a situation. People of Iraq, we are at your side, we will do everything we can to help you.

We are Anonymous
We are Legion
We do not forgive
We do not forget

Expect us!

King Abdullah Tries to Buy Stability in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, World Revolution on February 25, 2011 at 10:16 PM

Could March 20th be Saudi Arabia’s “Day of Rage”?

Anonymous Saudis have endorsed the date on Facebook in a kingdom where the popular social networking site has millions of subscribers and most Saudis own one if not more cell phones.

King Abdullah has responded to the building public discontent with a $37 billion package of subsidies, unemployment benefits, pay raises and housing promises, including the creation of 1,200 jobs and a 15% pay raise for all government employees.

Criticism was swift with critics calling the king’s gesture bribery and a bet against revolution. “People don’t revolt because they are hungry,” Saudi expat Ahmad al-Omran noted on his Saudi Jeans blog, “Money won’t solve our issues. We need true political and social reform.”

Leading intellectuals also warned the $37 billion in advance of protests did not substitute for meaningful political reform. In a released statement February 24, Saudi scholars, academics and a poet called on the royal family to learn from the unrest sweeping the region saying Arabs are looking for freedom, dignity and democracy.

Nearly half of all Saudis are under the age of 18 with 40% of 20- to 24-year-olds out of work. Add to this reality the fact that Saudi Arabia youth are highly connected and communicating through social media to the rest of the world and particularly to Arab youth.

So far only a few hundred supporters openly follow the K.S.A.Revolution Facebook page despite the long-standing undercurrent of unrest and anger towards the regime.

Will Saudi Arabia escape the freedom contagion despite its similar underlying demographics that resulted in revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt? Analysts remain divided on whether or not it can avoid the type of uprisings seen elsewhere.

PayPal Reinstates Bradley Manning Support Fund After Enormous Backlash From Supporters

In Bradley Manning, Manning, NWO, WikiLeaks on February 25, 2011 at 9:49 PM

Apparently reacting to enormous backlash from supporters and criticism in the media, PayPal has reinstated the account of Courage to Resist, an organization which has partnered with the Bradley Manning Support Network to raise funds for the defense of accused WikiLeaks whistleblower Bradley Manning.  The change in account status came only hours after the nonprofit organization published a press release drawing attention to the matter. Over 10,000 people signed the petition hosted by Firedoglake today urging PayPal to reinstate the charitable account, while many more supporters called PayPal directly to voice their criticisms.

Within hours, PayPal responded — reinstating the account so that Courage to Resist and the Bradley Manning Support Network can continue their work.

Jeff Paterson, Project Director of Courage to Resist and member of the Bradley Manning Support Network’s steering committee, provided the following statement:

We have spent nearly a month trying to resolve this matter with senior PayPal staff. Only after a conference call in which their chief compliance officer bluntly stated that our account would be permanently restricted and our funds returned  in 180 days did we issue this morning’s statement on the matter.

I little while ago I received an email from the PayPal machine, “Hello Courage to Resist, Our review is complete and we have restored your account.” Upon logging into the PayPal account, we’re now greeted with, “Your Account Access is Back in Regular Standing. Thank you for taking the steps to return your account to regular standing…”

Thank you to all of our supporters – many of whom contacted PayPal individually or signed the petition hosted by Firedoglake – who helped us restore our account.  We are extremely grateful to everyone who raised their voice today. While PayPal was never a primary channel for our online donors, it is especially valuable to our international supporters who do not use US-based credit cards or checks. I hope you will now help us get back to our real work in support of accused WikiLeaks whistle-blower Bradley Manning.

  • Stop the extreme, inhumane and illegal pre-trial punishment of Bradley Manning
  • Ensure that Bradley Manning receives top-notch legal representation from the lawyer of his choice
  • Stop any effort by the United States government to hold a secret court martial trial, unchecked by public and media oversight
  • Free Bradley Manning!

Do more to help Bradley Manning!

The Colbert Report: Anonymous & HBGary Leaks

In Anonymous, Other Leaks, WikiLeaks on February 25, 2011 at 7:15 PM

Stephen Colbert covered Anonymous and the HBGary leaks recently on his television show “The Colbert Report.” Colbert dug into the twisted saga of Anonymous vs. the security firm HBgary, which ended with HBGary employees’ inboxs spilled all over the web. Colbert said, “Crossing Anonymous is like sticking your penis in a hornets’ nest.” HBGary knows all-to-well just how true that is. Good press for Anonymous, here’s a rare mainstream outlet portraying them in almost heroic light, compared with usual darkness.

Anonymous recently revealed internal emails and documents from security firm HBGary that showed how it proposed targeting WikiLeaks and journalists, especially Glenn Greenwald, on behalf of Bank of America.

Glenn appeared on the Colbert Report last night to explain the story.

WATCH VIDEO HERE

During the interview, the Guy Fawkes mask that Anonymous is known to use, appeared quickly for 1 frame over Stephen Colbert’s face. It is still unconfirmed whether this was done purposely by the show, or if Anonymous was behind it.

Global Strike July 2011

In Anonymous, Viral Videos, World Revolution on February 25, 2011 at 12:37 PM

GLOBAL  STRIKE! 2011

There IS a way we can collectively fight back against environmentally destructive multinational corporations. A coordinated global general strike and boycott, combined with personal preparedness, in sufficient numbers, can cause a great deal of economic disruption. The best tactic? Non-participation. A multi pronged strategy will be most effective:

1. BOYCOTT: All corporate products, beginning with Coke, McDonalds, ADM, and Monsanto. Reduce to eliminate your consumption of gasoline. You can start this now. Lawsuits: The more of their resources are devoted to circular legal action, which is expensive, the more is taken out of their budget without producing anything. File lawsuits of every kind (class action, environmental damage, labor rights).

2. STRIKE: The first week of July 2011. Take your vacation time, sick leave, organize your union to strike at this time. Spend time with family at home! The main thing is: DON’T BUY ANYTHING FOR ONE WEEK. Continue as long as possible, buy the gasoline you will need for a week at least. Where legally possible if you rent, organize a rent strike in your building/community.

3. PREPARE: Learn what wild foods are available to you, identify them, and eat them. Start a garden, organize within your community to become as food self sufficient as possible. Store durable food a little at a time so you have a large supply by July. Plan many crops that will begin to bear by the first week of July.

A permanent boycott will cause price disruption and stock deflation. A coordinated strike will cause specific timed disruption of currency movement (ie it’s not coming out of your pocket, and you are not causing any more to be moved or produced), and preparedness to become independent permanently from key industries (industrial agriculture).

The only way to level the playing field with ‘the powers that be’ is to take their money and make it valueless. Complete abundance causes a market economy to crash! When you have everything you need, what do you need money for? THEY HAVE AS MUCH POWER AS WE BELIEVE IN THEIR MONEY.

Together we can take one more step to bringing the machine to it’s knees! Grow your own food! Stop giving them money!
