Quadruple-murder suspect Christopher Dorner is believed to be dead tonight after being holed up inside a cabin in Big Bear, California.
A fire broke out after police broke the windows to the cabin and fired tear gas into the building. A gunshot was also fired around that time.
News media in California confirmed a body had been found inside that cabin, but later retracted the reports after authorities held a press conference saying no body had been found yet as the cabin is still too hot to enter.
Tonight, Reality Check’s Ben Swann asks the question: Was taking Dorner alive an option?
